Religion Project Reflection
On this project I worked with Bri and charmaine. We studied Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. To show what we learned we made diary called Truly’s Travels. It was about this woman named Truly how travels to India to learn about three religions. Truly stays in a place in India for three to four days. I think we did an amazing job the story was really good. I thought it was just like a diary we put in her feelings and thoughts as well as the facts. When we started this project I remember Rob telling us that it should have a lot of facts and not be mostly story, because writing the story is the most fun. A couple days before the project was due I remember reading my dad the story he said” it sounds great, but where is the facts?”, that is when I started to get sacred. I really did not want it to be all about Truly. So when I got to school I made us all put more facts in our days, so in the end I think we had a lot about each of those religions. In the end when we finished we had a lot of writing more then I thought we had. I was really scared in the middle of our project that we would not have a lot of writing, and it would look like we did nothing in four weeks.
I don’t think we were the best in managing our time. We did not follow our calender at all. In our plans for our project it says that Truly was going to spend a week in every place and learn about each religion for a week, but in the end we just did three to four days. At one point Charmaine said that we were supposed to be on our first day of Jainism and we were not even half way through Buddhism that was kind of a wake up moment about how much we still had to do. Even yesterday the last day we had time to work on our project we were had so much to do. My mom had edit that week end, so when I got to class monday morning we still had to edit, cut the photos out, and finally put it together. For projects in the future one thing I need to work on is being more on time with thing. I think that we help we with not being so stressed about the project and getting it done, But in the end we got it done so it was fine.
I loved working with Bri and Charmaine. We worked very well together. Except, some times when we got of topic which is not good when you really need to get a project done. I would work with them again, because when we really need to get something done we can make it happen, and turn out something really cool and amazing. Last project I worked with Charmaine, but I had never worked with Bri yet so that was a lot of fun.
I did not think that our presentation went all that well. We did not prepare at all, but we did talk about it a little. We had a little trouble deciding what we were going to do to present, but in the end we just thought that we would read a little of the book. That did not go as well as planed because we found out while we were presenting that you kind of need to read the whole book to under stand it. When we were talking to Rob, he told us that maybe we could have said a little more about the book so that people would what to read it. Rob said that our writing was really good, but the presentation was not good at all, but we kind of knew that. In the end I thought that we did a great job.
I would do a project like this again because it was really enjoyable, but I like to do other projects to see what is out there.
